Bisleri International has partnered with Maharaja’s College and Yuvaraja College, constituent colleges of the University of Mysore, to promote responsible plastic waste management and recycling among students. The collaboration, signed through a Letter of Association (LOA), comes under Bisleri’s flagship sustainability initiative, Bottles for Change.
The initiative aims to encourage students, faculty members and staff to adopt sustainable waste management practices and make plastic recycling a part of everyday life.
As part of the partnership, Bisleri International will provide training, guidance and recycling support to both campuses. The colleges will help implement the programme and encourage active participation from their campus communities.
The programme will include awareness sessions, workshops and plastic collection drives. These activities will educate students about source segregation, proper plastic collection and recycling. The initiative also aims to help students understand how used plastic can be turned into a valuable resource instead of becoming waste.
Speaking about the partnership, K. Ganesh, Director of Sustainability and Corporate Affairs at Bisleri International Pvt. Ltd., said, “Educational institutions have the power to shape attitudes and behaviours that create long-term impact.”

He added that the association would strengthen sustainability practices on campuses and encourage students to become advocates for environmental responsibility in their communities.
Dr. K. Ajay Kumar, Principal of Yuvaraja College, welcomed the collaboration, saying it would provide students with meaningful opportunities to learn and practise sustainable waste management. He emphasised that practical learning could inspire young people to take greater responsibility for the environment.
Dr. V. Shanmugam, Principal of Maharaja’s College, said the initiative would help students understand the importance of segregating and recycling plastic waste and encourage them to adopt environmentally responsible habits.
The partnership is part of Bisleri’s Greener Promise sustainability vision, which focuses on recycling, water conservation and responsible resource management. Through Bottles for Change, the company works with educational institutions, communities and other stakeholders to improve plastic collection and recycling systems.By bringing the initiative to the two colleges, Bisleri aims to extend awareness beyond campuses and encourage students to spread sustainable practices within their communities.
The collaboration seeks to build long-term environmental awareness among young people and contribute to a circular economy in which plastic is collected, recycled and reused rather than discarded.
