Royal Enfield commits ₹3 crore+ to Himalayan snow leopards

Royal Enfield commits over ₹3 crore to snow leopard conservation across the Indian Himalayas

Royal Enfield has committed more than ₹3 crore to snow leopard conservation in the Indian Himalayas, announcing the funding around International Snow Leopard Day on 23 October. The money follows One Ride 2026, the company’s annual global riding event, which this year was dedicated to protecting the Himalayas and the snow leopard. The company says it will support scientific research, population assessments, community stewardship and measures to reduce human-wildlife conflict.

Where the funding will go

The support will be delivered through Royal Enfield’s Social Mission across more than 10,500 square kilometres of snow leopard habitat in Himachal Pradesh, Ladakh, Uttarakhand, Sikkim, Arunachal Pradesh and Jammu & Kashmir. Royal Enfield says it will work with the Nature Conservation Foundation, the Ashoka Trust for Research in Ecology and the Environment, the Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust and the Centre for Pastoralism. The focus will include population assessments, wildlife monitoring and community engagement.

Pastoral livelihoods, livestock and wildlife often share the same landscape in these areas. The company says part of the funding will go to conflict-mitigation measures and community stewardship.

Ladakh Nature Centre

Royal Enfield’s Social Mission is also set to launch the Ladakh Nature Centre in Saspotsey, with the Snow Leopard Conservancy India Trust and the Ladakh Autonomous Hill Development Council. It is described as an art-based interpretation space that will introduce residents and visitors to the region’s biodiversity and natural heritage.

Conservation conclave in December

A Snow Leopard Conservation Conclave is planned for December 2026 during the Journeying Across the Himalayas event. Royal Enfield will support it with the Global Snow Leopard and Ecosystem Protection Program and the Nature Conservation Foundation. It is intended to bring conservation experts and policymakers together to align India’s strategies with international standards and strengthen cross-border cooperation.

One Ride 2026 took place on 20 September under the theme “Every Rider. Every Road. One Mission.” According to Royal Enfield, it brought together 156,085 riders across 67 countries, and every rider’s participation counted towards a contribution to snow leopard conservation. The announcement falls in the company’s 125th anniversary year.
