Housing and Urban Development Corporation Limited (HUDCO), a Government of India enterprise under the Ministry of Housing and Urban Affairs, has launched a series of cleanliness, environmental and community welfare initiatives across India under Special Campaign 6.0. The campaign aims to promote a cleaner environment, improve workplace efficiency and support inclusive community development.
One of the major highlights was a Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiative at the Institution for the Blind in Lajpat Nagar, New Delhi. HUDCO planted more than 100 saplings and placed flower pots across the campus to increase green cover and create a healthier environment for students and staff.
The initiative also focused on improving campus infrastructure. Classrooms and boundary walls were painted with creative artwork, while wired mesh in ground-floor windows was replaced. A new gate and a shaded parking area were also developed. The playground, temple terrace and surrounding areas were cleaned, cleared of waste and painted to improve hygiene and accessibility.

Cleanliness Drives Across Offices
As part of Special Campaign 6.0, HUDCO’s corporate and regional offices across the country organised cleanliness drives and awareness activities. Employees took the Swachhta Pledge and participated in plastic waste collection and office cleaning activities.
The campaign also included the removal of old files, scrap materials, obsolete IT equipment and other unused items through authorised disposal procedures. These efforts helped improve office space management and create cleaner, more organised workplaces.
Eye Check-up Camp for Support Staff
Giving importance to employee welfare, HUDCO also organised an eye check-up camp in collaboration with Centres for Sight Hospital. The camp benefited Swachhta Mitras, housekeeping staff, multi-tasking employees and security personnel who contribute to maintaining cleanliness and hygiene across the organisation.
Through these initiatives, HUDCO is promoting cleanliness beyond office premises by focusing on environmental protection, community welfare and the health of its workforce.
The campaign reflects HUDCO’s commitment to the vision of a cleaner, greener and more sustainable India through collective participation and responsible practices.
