HDFC Bank has expanded its corporate social responsibility (CSR) footprint in Telangana by launching 12 community development initiatives under its flagship CSR programme, Parivartan. The projects, inaugurated virtually by Telangana Chief Minister A. Revanth Reddy, are expected to improve the lives of more than 12 lakh people annually by strengthening healthcare, education, sanitation, and community infrastructure across the state.
The initiatives span over 40 villages across 10 districts, including Bhupalpally, Kamareddy, Sangareddy, Karimnagar, Adilabad, Rajanna Sircilla, Khammam, Peddapalli, Wanaparthy, Nagar Kurnool, Hyderabad, Nizamabad, and Rangareddy. Through these interventions, HDFC Bank aims to enhance access to quality public services while supporting the state’s long-term development goals.
One of the key highlights of the programme is the inauguration of a 1.5 Tesla MRI facility at the Government Hospital in Bhupalpally, which is expected to significantly improve diagnostic capabilities for patients in the region. The healthcare initiatives also include a 10-bed Intensive Care Unit (ICU) at the Government Hospital in Kodangal and three Mobile Medical Care Units that will serve communities in Hyderabad, Sangareddy, and Nizamabad, making healthcare services more accessible to underserved populations.
Education forms another major pillar of the CSR programme. HDFC Bank will upgrade 74 government schools and 35 government junior colleges through its Parivartan Shala initiative. These model schools will receive improvements in academic infrastructure, digital learning resources, STEM education facilities, and sanitation infrastructure. The objective is to create a more conducive learning environment and improve educational outcomes for students across rural and semi-urban Telangana.
The bank has also focused on strengthening community infrastructure by installing 60 solar-powered highway streetlights and constructing three public sanitation complexes at the Amrabad Tiger Reserve. These projects are designed to enhance public safety, improve sanitation, and promote sustainable infrastructure in environmentally sensitive and remote areas.
The initiatives are being implemented in collaboration with the Government of Telangana and development organisations such as Doctors For You, Smile Foundation, Ramky Foundation, BAIF, and Learning Links Foundation. The partnerships aim to ensure efficient implementation and long-term sustainability of the projects while addressing local development needs through a collaborative approach.
Speaking on the occasion, Nusrat Pathan, Head of Corporate Social Responsibility at HDFC Bank, said the Parivartan programme reflects the bank’s commitment to creating meaningful and sustainable social impact. She noted that the projects focus on improving healthcare, education, and essential infrastructure while supporting inclusive growth through strong partnerships with the state government and implementation agencies.
Kumar Sanjeev, Branch Banking Head at HDFC Bank, said the initiatives demonstrate the bank’s commitment to supporting communities beyond banking services by investing in infrastructure that improves everyday life. He added that the programme reinforces the bank’s efforts to contribute to Telangana’s overall development through impactful CSR interventions.
Parivartan is HDFC Bank’s flagship CSR initiative and focuses on six key areas: rural development, education, healthcare and hygiene, skill development and livelihood enhancement, financial literacy and inclusion, and natural resource management. Through these latest projects in Telangana, the bank continues to expand its efforts to promote sustainable and inclusive community development across India.
