Piramal Finance has reported a significant expansion of its corporate social responsibility (CSR) initiatives during FY2025-26, reaching more than 113 million people across 28 states and two Union Territories through programmes focused on education, healthcare, water security, financial inclusion, and leadership development. Implemented through the Piramal Foundation, the company’s CSR efforts reflect a long-term commitment to creating sustainable social impact by partnering with governments, local communities, and development organisations.
The company invested over ₹22.5 crore in CSR initiatives during the financial year, with interventions carried out under four flagship platforms—Aspirational Bharat Collaborative, Digital Bharat Collaborative, Inclusive Bharat Collaborative, and the Piramal School of Leadership. These programmes are designed to strengthen public systems, improve access to essential services, and build community resilience in underserved regions across the country.
Education remained a key area of focus during the year. Piramal Foundation supported the establishment of more than 5,000 demonstration schools across 15 states, contributing to measurable improvements in student learning outcomes in mathematics and language. Its Panchayat for Education initiative reached over 3.13 lakh students while training nearly 39,800 education leaders to strengthen school governance and learning quality. The foundation also enhanced early childhood education by supporting around 900 demonstration Anganwadi centres, helping improve foundational learning for young children.
Healthcare initiatives also expanded significantly. The foundation operated 131 Mobile Medical Units and 36 static health clinics across 16 states, providing accessible healthcare services to remote and underserved communities. These facilities served nearly 8,000 beneficiaries every working day and recorded over 14.48 lakh patient visits during FY2026. In addition, government health helplines managed by the foundation in Assam and Bihar assisted more than 6.17 lakh people, offering timely medical guidance and support.
Water conservation and sanitation formed another major pillar of the company’s CSR strategy. Piramal Foundation worked with communities to activate more than 200 Village Water and Sanitation Committees, enabling local participation in water resource management. In Ranchi, community-led planning under the programme successfully mobilised around ₹1.6 crore in government funding for water infrastructure, demonstrating how collaborative planning can strengthen access to safe drinking water and sanitation facilities.
The organisation also continued to invest in leadership development and digital transformation to improve governance and service delivery. Through the Piramal School of Leadership, professionals were trained to drive systemic change in public institutions, while digital initiatives focused on enhancing the efficiency and accessibility of government services. These efforts align with the company’s broader objective of creating scalable solutions that address complex social challenges through innovation and partnerships.
Piramal Finance stated that its CSR approach focuses on strengthening existing public systems rather than creating parallel structures, enabling long-term and sustainable impact. By working closely with government agencies, local administrations, civil society organisations, and community leaders, the company seeks to ensure that development programmes continue to benefit people even after direct project support ends.
With a presence across most parts of the country and a growing portfolio of community development initiatives, Piramal Finance’s CSR programme reflects an integrated approach to inclusive growth. By investing in education, healthcare, water security, leadership development, and digital empowerment, the company aims to contribute to stronger public systems and improved quality of life for millions of people, reinforcing the role of corporate social responsibility in advancing sustainable development across India.
